Perfected for laser engravers. The Laser LX is the result of years of engineering and real-world testing to prevent the common problems that previously plagued filters used in laser engraving. The result is an efficient unit that connects directly to the exhaust duct to remove particles, chemicals, gases and smoke odor. Tested and refined to resist clogging, this unit features a 0.5 micron pre-filer to capture larger particulate matter, a medical grade HEPA filter to remove 99.97% of 0.3 micron particulate matter and a large 24 lb. carbon filter to adsorb volatile organic compounds, gases and smoke odor. A 6" flange for ducting is also included. Contaminated air is blown directly into the unit. Purified air is ejected out of the pure-air vent. |

 What are VOC's ? VOC's are chemicals and odors released by many common household items: - Cleaning products - Upholstery - Personal care products - Treated fabric - Wood furniture - Dry-cleaning - Carpets Facts about VOCs - EPA studies have found that levels of about a 12 common organic pollutants are 2 to 5 times higher inside homes than outside, regardless of whether the homes were located in rural or highly industrial areas. - The EPA also notes that while people are using products containing VOCs, they can expose themselves and others to very high pollutant levels whcih persist in the air long after the activity is completed. Many VOCs are also known carcinogens. Dangerous health effects associated with VOCs - Eye, nose and throat irritation - Headaches, nausea and diminished coordination - Liver, kidney and central nervous system damage Examples of VOCs often found in indoor air: Formaldehyde A known carcinogen found in some insulation, furniture, carpet, glue and tobacco smoke. Leads to burning in your throat, watery eyes, nausea, difficulty breathing, and it can bring on asthma attacks. Mold micro-toxins These highly carcinogenic VOCs are the by-product of mold infestations. Tobacco smoke A known carcinogen found to contain more than 6000 chemicals and gasses.
