The Allerair Airmedic has 360? air intake. Contaminated air is sucked in from all around the machine. Clean air is blown out near the top in a directed stream. This prevents clean air from being sucked back in.

Particle removal is noticeably better than standards set for regular HEPA filters, making it more than 99.97% effective at removing particles 0.3 microns in size.

The Airmedic has 20 lbs of activated carbon in a 2 inch deep filter. The 360° air intake allows a larger surface area for carbon to capture gases, odors and VOCs.

• Larger carbon filter for heavy chemical, gas and odor control. The standard 20 lb carbon filter is 2.0 inchs thick. The D 25 lb carbon filter is 3.0 inches thick. A Micro-HEPA filter will replace the full sized HEPA filter to accomodate the larger carbon filter.
  
  Deeper carbon filters increase "Dwell Time", the length of time chemicals, gases and odors are in contact with the adsorbing carbon surface. Deeper carbon filters are more effective in adsorbing chemical, gas and odor molecules.
